As producers of premium Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, we’re pretty keen on our gastronomic delights, and Russell and I ended up at the perfect destination on our road trip south, the Bluff Oyster Festival. Boy did we enjoy a feast!
Oysters, “au natural” and deep fried in a tempura batter, seafood pie and crumbed blue cod.
This guy seemed to be the fastest shucker in the South, it’s definitely an art form! You’ll need gloves and a sharp knife if you’re going to give it a go yourself.

It wasn’t all about food. Fashion featured and was full of inspired creativity with the Oyster Sack and Foveaux Fantasy fashion parades. The former with fashion created with oyster sacks and the Fantasy Fashions being wearable art with a seascape theme.
The weather turned about 12.30, with a southerly heading in….. we took shelter in the car and scuttled back to our accommodation, where we enjoyed….. yes you’ve guessed it…. more oysters.
Fairbourne premium Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect match with oysters. But this time we decided to indulge with Champagne….. that Russell really knows how to spoil a girl!
